Project Brutality 3.0 is an upcoming version of one of the best available mods for the classic Doom. This version contains famous DEagle .50 pistol and we are going to visit Extermination Day with it. Project Brutality will probably be released after the DOOM:Eternal so it might take some time. Also, when you look at the Project Brutality Trello account, there are so many ideas to implement that it might take some time. Keep in mind when playing this Project Brutality revision from GitHub, everything is Work In Progress so bugs are EXPECTED. In case of the Shotgun with magazine upgrade crash, head to the hotfix-reporting-and-requests room of Project Brutality discord and get the pk3 hotfix. The Desert Eagle is fully functional in this release - you can dual wield, aim and shoot, it's an upgrade for the Revolver. Once picked up, it replaces it permanently - it has twice the ammo capacity but it eats pistol bullets really fast. Basically using the Desert Eagle without dual wielding is quite difficult, it shows the full potential with akimbo playstyle. Desert Eagle deals a lot of damage to the medium hellspawn (3-4 shots against Cacos) while it's quite mediocre against smaller enemies. The higher tier monsters like Barons and its mutations, are really durable so do not think and bring your M2 Plasma Rifle. The M2 Plasma Rifle is quite buggy when upgraded with Tesla, so it's better not to use this upgrade at the moment. Your Heavy Plasma Rifle is extremely useful when dual wielded, and its Flamethrower ability is devastating. You might notice that the monster spawns are quite random, I switched from Tiered Progression to Chaotic Random. Unfortunately it will also highly increase the probability to spawn the upgrades, so you can find a lot of upgrades for your weapons quite early. The Excavator is one of the most overpowered weapons in entire Project Brutality, it has no problems with eradicating hordes of strong enemies. Excavator's drop charges are your primary choice against Barons of Hell spawns, hordes of Revenants and even Spider Masterminds. The Nailgun is one of the main favourite guns to use in Project Brutality. It has a very big magazine capacity (120 nails) and it deals very high damage to everything. No basic enemy or even a Baron of Hell can withstand a shower of these nicely aimed nails at them.
As for the Extermination Day, you can also notice changes in maps. The Eye of the Storm is now divided between two levels - the first part is mostly a tank assault with lots of the old content cut. The next level is basically only a fight against the Guardian of the Demon's Portal, quite a short level. Next we have a Counter-Offensive (first level of the old 3 episode) that got slightly reworked and is still a Work In Progress. You might notice that one of the Hell levels got cut and we immediately start in the Jungle level. One of the most annoying levels to be honest, especially with these hidden hellspawn everywhere.

Woo! Project Brutality is BACK! It's been far too long since we've played our absolute FAVORITE DOOM mod, and now that Project Brutality's 3.0 update is finally nearing release we decided to get our hands on the latest test update and dive back into the brutality! We don't get to test out all of the new features in this video but we do some double jumping, try out the nail gun, and beast down some demon faces in a couple Master Levels of Doom II wads.
